Why did I start designing group trips?

It Was Never the Plan

At first, I traveled purely for the joy of discovering. I followed the light, the colors, the rhythm of a place—a beautiful café, a quiet beach, a hotel with a story. I kept everything in notebooks, photos, folded maps.

Then the questions came:
Where is that? How did you get there? Where did you stay? Can I do the same?

And without realizing it, I started designing trips for others.

At first, they were routes for friends. Then for people I didn’t know, but who understood something important: that traveling isn’t just about going from point A to B.

Traveling is also about finding a place that makes you feel good without needing to do much.

For me, I know I’ve clicked with a place when I don’t need anything. When it’s enough to sit down, have a drink, look around, and feel like everything—the light, the colors, the pace—just fits. Like being in front of a piece of art that needs no explanation, only contemplation. And that brings peace.

That’s how My Nest Away was born.

Not a tour, not a retreat.

But a way to travel together, without rigid schedules or labels. Small, thoughtful groups. No rushed itineraries or pretentious speeches. People who want to discover Bali differently: slowly, with curiosity, with a desire to enjoy without hurrying.
And with the openness to share the journey with others.

Because sometimes the best part of a place isn’t the place itself, but the people you discover it with.
Those unexpected connections that make a meal last longer, a laugh echo louder, or a conversation linger long after you’re back home.

Because a trip doesn’t end when it’s over—it ends when you stop living it.
And sometimes, all it takes is one sentence: “Remember that time in Bali…?”
And having someone who was there, who gets it, makes the memory last forever.

Because beautiful travel isn’t about filters or full agendas.
It’s about arriving somewhere and feeling like you could stay.

In this blog, we’ll share that.
Not general advice, but places I’ve been. Cafés where I stayed longer than planned. Hotels with silence. Corners where everything seems to fall into place.

If you’re looking for a way of traveling that feels lighter, more genuine, and full of quiet moments that stay with you—welcome.

This is where My Nest Away begins.
And hopefully, yours too.
